Your Instructor
As a registered nurse for 34 years, Dr. Long has worked in critical care, emergency medicine, IMC, primary care and endocrinology. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Nursing Science and Spanish from Brigham Young University, a master’s degree in Public Health Education at California College of Health Sciences, a master’s degree in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Purdue University, and a PhD in Nursing Education and Leadership from UNLV and dissertation with Charisma University. She developed health education and diabetes programs in English and Spanish for local hospitals in Las Vegas, Nevada where she resides.
She works as an adjunct Professor of Nursing at Arizona College of Nursing and as a Nurse Practitioner in a busy endocrinology office. She is the co-founder of LifeLongLearningeducation.com. She teaches webinars on Medical Spanish, the CCRN review course and the Diabetes Educator certification review course for nurse.com. She is an annual guest faculty for International Service Learning for one of her favorite activities of taking nurses and nursing students each summer internationally to offer free medical clinics to underserved communities.
As an author she has written three children’s health books, three books on family history and published articles on cultural competence training. She married her college sweetheart and they have their own Long legacy of 6 children who teach her what’s really important in life.
